How it works under your plan

Companionship & your NDIS funding.

Social support and companionship are commonly funded from your Core Supports budget under Social and Community Participation. You can use this flexibly to choose how often visits happen and what you do together. We work with self-managed, plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants, and we do not guarantee funding outcomes.

The 2025-26 price cap
$70.23/ hour weekday

What does a companionship visit look like? +
It is built around you, from a chat over tea to a shared hobby or a local outing. The aim is regular, genuine connection.
Can companionship help with loneliness? +
Regular friendly visits and shared activities are designed to reduce isolation and help you feel more connected, though everyone's experience is different.
Can the worker help me keep up my hobbies? +
Yes. A worker can join you in pastimes you love and support you to stay involved in interests and groups that matter to you.
Can I have the same companion regularly? +
We aim to match you with a consistent worker so a real rapport can build over time.
Is companionship different from personal care? +
Yes. Companionship focuses on social connection and shared time, not personal or physical care tasks.
