Questions

What are the NDIS remote and very remote price loadings?

Remote (MMM 6) price limits are 40% above the national limit and very remote (MMM 7) price limits are 50% above it.

What is the NDIA's isolated towns modification?

Where a location is surrounded by Remote or Very Remote areas, the NDIA classifies that enclave as Remote for planning and pricing. Broken Hill, for example, is MMM 3 but has an NDIS MMM rating of 6.

How much travel time can a provider claim?

Up to 30 minutes per trip in MMM 1–3 areas and up to 60 minutes in MMM 4–5 areas. There is no travel time limit in remote and very remote areas.

Sources and how this works

The NDIA uses the 2023 Modified Monash Model: MMM 6 is Remote and MMM 7 is Very Remote, with price limits 40% and 50% above the national limit. The NDIA reclassifies some enclaves surrounded by remote areas as Remote (Schedule 11 of the Pricing Schedule 2026-27). Travel time limits and rules are from the NDIS Pricing Arrangements 2025-26.

Figures checked 24 Oct 2026. Check your MMM category on the Health Workforce Locator; this tool does not hold MMM data for every address.
