NDIS Support Worker Rates 2026-27: All 131 Items by Time of Day

In short

The NDIS support worker rates for 2026-27 are in Schedule 1 of the NDIS Pricing Schedule 2026-27: 131 support items delivered by disability support workers, in 4 price levels (Tables 1 to 4).
Standard personal care and community access are $73.58 an hour on weekdays during the day, $103.54 on Saturdays, $133.50 on Sundays and $163.46 on public holidays. A night-time sleepover is $311.79.
113 of the items are priced by time of day and day of week. Which one to claim depends on when the support is delivered, not on the worker’s shift.
Price limits are the most a provider can charge NDIA-managed and plan-managed participants. Providers can charge less, and self-managing participants are not bound by price limits.

Level 3 items (Table 3) are capacity building supports such as life transition planning, employment assistance and training for carers. They have one price at any time: $83.87 an hour.

How support worker items are claimed

Work out the day first, then the time of day. Weekday daytime is 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, weekday evening is 8:00 pm to midnight, and a weekday night support crosses midnight or starts before 6:00 am. Saturday, Sunday and public holiday prices cover the whole day. See weekday daytime, evening, night, Saturday, Sunday and public holiday rates.
If a support does not fit within one time band, claim it as two or more separate supports, one for each band. The exception: when the same worker delivers the whole support, the higher of the price limits applies to all of it, and the provider must discuss this billing with the participant.
A support is a night-time sleepover when the shift starts before midnight and finishes after midnight, runs for 8 hours or more without a break, and the worker is allowed to sleep when they are not giving support. It is claimed once for the night and includes up to two hours of active support (sleepover rates).
High intensity items (Level 2) are for participants who need one or more of the high intensity daily personal activities listed in Schedule 2, Module 1 of the NDIS (Provider Registration and Practice Standards) Rules 2018.
Intensive and complex behaviour support items (Level 2) apply when, during the support, the participant shows frequent behaviours of concern that significantly affect their own or other people’s wellbeing and safety, needs intensive (frequent or daily) proactive strategies, skill development and response strategies (which may include restrictive practices), and may have other issues that make their behaviour support needs more complex. The provider must be implementing behaviour support under the participant’s interim or comprehensive behaviour support plan and be registered and assessed for Module 2A (Implementing Behaviour Support Plans), or have applied with a Module 2A audit by 30 June 2025. Plan-managed participants must use a provider who has completed Module 2A.
Delivered to a group at the same time: the price limit for each participant is the item’s price limit divided by the number of people in the group, and the provider claims for each participant for the full time of the support.
Short notice cancellation: if the participant gives less than 7 days’ notice or does not show up, the provider can claim up to 100% of the agreed fee, as long as it could not find other billable work for the worker, has to pay the worker for that time (unless it is a sole trader or partnership), and the service agreement sets out the cancellation terms. Providers can waive the fee or offer better terms.
Provider travel: worker travel time is capped at 30 minutes each way in MMM1–3 areas and 60 minutes in MMM4–5 areas, with no time limit in remote and very remote areas. Non-labour costs such as parking and tolls are claimed separately (non-labour travel items).
A provider that agrees to deliver at least 20 hours a month of personal care or participation supports for three or more consecutive months can claim a one-off establishment fee.
